Juvenile shot in Hamlet, suspect arrested

HAMLET — On Friday, June 9, at 10:29 p.m., officers with the Hamlet Police Division responded to 412 Spring St. following a report of a taking pictures.

Upon arrival, officers found a juvenile whose identify has not been disclosed, with a gunshot wound to the again, in response to a press launch.

Following an investigation in partnership with the Rockingham Police Division, Xavier Malik York was taken into custody and remanded within the Richmond County Jail.
