Multi-unit investigation yields drug arrests

HAMLET — Sheriff Mark Gulledge reviews that on Saturday, June 17, 2023, investigators with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Workplace Group Affect Crew, Rockingham Police Division Vice/Narcotics Unit, and the sheriff’s workplace SRT, executed a search warrant on a residence situated on Howell Rd. in Hamlet for unlawful narcotics.
The companies have been working an investigation on the occupants of the residence for the distribution of unlawful narcotics.
In the course of the execution of the search warrant, investigators arrested Jessie Clifford Goins, Jr., 58, of the residence, Codena Dewayne Huffin, 39, of Hamlet and Sharon Grant Hyatt, 55, of Rockingham.
Whereas looking the residence, investigators situated and seized roughly 13.20 grams of crack cocaine, 3 grams of marijuana, 1 dosage unit of opium, assorted drug paraphernalia, a .22 cal. rifle and a 12 ga. shotgun.
Goins was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, PWISD cocaine, felony possession of cocaine, sustaining a dwelling for managed substance, easy possession of Sch. III managed substance, easy possession of Sch. VI managed substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Goins was processed into the Richmond County Jail below a $30,000 safe bond.
Huffin was arrested and charged with felony possession of cocaine, sustaining a dwelling/car for managed substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Huffin was processed into the Richmond County Jail below a $2,500 safe bond.
Hyatt was arrested and charged with felony possession of cocaine. She was launched on a written promise to look in court docket.
